Director Public Policy

Director Public Policy will report to the Chief Public Policy Zupee and will lead a team of policy professionals. The key responsibility would be to drive meaningful engagement with a wide array of stakeholders including policymakers government officials policy influencers thinktanks academia experts and other relevant stakeholders on all policy issues concerning the online gaming industry. The successful candidate will develop thoughtleadership programs as well as having direct responsibility for issue management advocacy social responsibility and public policy. The candidate will ensure that senior management is aware of current political climate and policy trends and is equipped to develop and deploy strategies that enable Zupees business.

Key Job Responsibilities;

• Structure and lead the policy function with the guidance of the Chief to establish Zupee as a voice of knowledge and reason in the online gaming industry while ensuring an ascertainable positive impact for Zupee in achieving its overall business objectives and goals.
  
• Effectively identify the risks posed by political and legislative actions as well as the associated risks posed by the associated regulatory environment.
  
• Ability to develop and execute preemptive proactive and reactive strategies and solutions to counter risks to business and functioning of Zupee.
  
• Drive the deliberation and drafting of Zupees positions on pending legislation and regulation and relevant responses to government consultations.
  
• Anticipate significant regional political stances and policy trends while developing and modifying strategies to manage these trends.
  
• Forge and maintain ongoing relationships with key opinion shapers and influencers across the government (legislative and executive) business consumers and customer groups.
  
• Direct and provide input to senior management in reviewing and analyzing policies affecting the company while serving as a member of the larger public policy team.
  
• Develop deploy and manage a formidable and adaptable system for timely coordinated uniform and analytical communication amongst policy teammates and to senior management by all internal and external resources.
  
• Actively foster the establishment and participation in industry association and bodies conversation that aim to protect the business while delivering policy results for the company major customer groups and other parties as necessary
  
• Develop and manage a team of highperforming policy professionals.
  

Requirements

Basis Qualifications

• Bachelors degree
  
• Law Public Policy Economics Business Management or other advanced degrees.
  
• Minimum 15 years of relevant public policy experience
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Seniorlevel leadership experience advancing public policy goals and government relations
  
• Past experience of handling policy issues at any technology company or a startup with an ability to manage a variety of missioncritical projects in ambiguous environments.
  
• Deep understanding of the political process and climate in India with an awareness of global happenings/ practices
  
• A track record of effectively leveraging resources including internal teams external consultants coalitions associations and other relevant organizations.
