Description

Job Summary
The Project Manager plans directs and coordinates activities of designated new product development projects or strategic initiatives. May be overseeing single or multiple projects as the situation allows. Will be responsible for ensuring the goals and objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and profitability by performing the following duties utilizing project management practices and philosophy.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews project charter business case and requirements to determine time frame funding limitations procedures for accomplishing project staffing requirements and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
  • Confers with appropriate functional leaders to outline work plan and assign duties responsibilities and scope of authority.
  • Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project and arranges for assignment of project personnel.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Reviews status reports and other documentation prepared by project personnel clients and other contractors and modifies schedules or plans as required.
  • Escalates and creates urgency around any issues that would impede the success of the project. Ensures that issues are resolved in a timely manner and communicated to the stakeholders.
  • Prepares and presents project reports for management client or others. Gathers and develops backup material for change order requests.
  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
  • Develops and improves project management processes and routines for use throughout the Company.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree required
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
  • Lean / Six Sigma preferred
  • 5 years experience in the industry of engineering or product development
  • Engineering or business degree preferred
  • Must be able to work in a matrixed environment.
  • Must have experience with crossregional teams coordinating meetings and activities across different timezones.
  • Critical infrastructure and data center expertise is a plus.
  • Experience in both hardware and software projects a plus.
  • Proficient with MS Word Project Excel Power Point Google Docs and other project management software and applications.
  • Requires excellent verbal and writing skills to communicate effectively with clients and their representatives contractors field engineers peers and management.
  • Requires mature judgment responsible for assigned projects and supervises organizes and directs the work of others.
  • Requires high degree of communication supervisory and organization skills.
