Job Opportunity: Credit Underwriting Manager. My client is looking for a Credit Underwriting Manager to join a leading global natural resources company. This role forms a key part of the companys global Credit Risk team. The role involves credit risk monitoring counterparty review analysis and managing a team of Underwriting Analysts.

Duties & Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will work closely with global stakeholders to manage the credit risk portfolio and ensure that the team adheres to performance goals.

As a senior member of the team you will oversee daytoday operations manage the limit and rating setting process and provide guidance to the team. This position requires expertise in managing complex credit structures asset valuations and addressing atypical credit risks.

KeyResponsibilities:
  • Manage and mentor a team of Credit Underwriting Analysts
  • SupporttheGlobalHeadofUnderwritingwithcreditriskassessmentsandreporting
  • Perform indepth financial analysis limit & rating setting and reassessments for a global oil marketing portfolio
  • Provide guidance on credit risk appetite and asset valuations
  • Monitor sector trends and produce macroeconomic analysis
  • Report on credit risk performance and KPIs to senior management
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with senior management and the commercial credit team

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance Risk Management Accounting Economics or Business Studies
  • Postgraduate qualifications Chartered Accountant Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or similar certifications are advantageous
  • At least 8 years of experience in credit risk or credit underwriting ideally in mining commodity trading banking or consultancy
  • Strongfinancialanalysisandreportingexperience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel PowerPoint and Access); coding skills in VBA Power BI or Python are advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
