St. Mary Magdalen Catholic School is accepting applications for a Learning Support Teacher for the upcomingschool year.
As a Learning Support Teacher you will work closely with students educators and parents to ensure thatall students including those with diverse learning needs have access to quality education and supportservices. Your role will involve implementing specialized teaching strategies communicating withparents and collaborating with teachers and other education professionals to create an inclusive learningenvironment.
This is a fulltime faculty position and includes all contractual obligations put forth by theOffice of Catholic Education and St. Mary Magdalen School.
Responsibilities
1Assessment and Evaluation:
Collaborate with educational psychologists and other specialists to provide the information needed to evaluate
students cognitive academic and behavioral needs.
2Individualized Education Planning:
Collaborate with classroom teachers parents and support staff to ensure that IEP/504 goals are effectively
implemented and monitored.
Modify curriculum materials and instructional methods to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
3Instruction and Support:
Provide direct instruction to students with special needs either in a resource room setting or within inclusive
classrooms.
Adapt teaching strategies materials and assessments to accommodate students individual learning styles and
abilities.
Offer academic support remediation and enrichment activities to help students achieve their goals.
4Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with classroom teachers administrators and support staff to coordinate services and resources for
students with special needs.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to discuss students progress concerns and goals.
Participate in team meetings professional development activities and workshops to enhance your skills and
knowledge in special education practices.
