Grade: Director

Job Purpose:

The SVO Director is responsible for overseeing the production of highspecification and performance vehicles. This role leads a dedicated team focused on creating ultra luxury limited edition and performance enhanced models ensuring the highest standards of craftsmanship innovation and exclusivity. The SVO director collaborates closely with all other teams within Manufacturing Operations Design Engineering and Commercial to drive the success of the special vehicle programs.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the SVO manufacturing strategy in alignment with the launch and production plans
  • Oversee end to end production processes ensuring the highest levels of quality and safety are met
  • Lead the integration of cuttingedge technologies and materials to enhance vehicle customization into the production plans
  • Drive continuous improvements to optimize efficiency cost and product quality
  • Ensure all vehicles meet or exceed quality safety and regulatory standards and are delivered ontime to internal and external customers
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency without compromising craftsmanship
  • Develop and manage budgets for the SVO team ensuring costeffective operations whilst maintaining high standards
  • Lead and develop a highlight skilled team specializing in luxury vehicle craftsmanship and performance engineering
  • Foster a culture of innovation precisions and excellence within the SVO Team
  • Ensure training and development programs are in place to develop teams creating succession plans and talent mapping
  • Work closely with the Launch department to develop and implement successful launch to lines of new vehicles
  • Ensure production readiness process supports the launch preparation for new model major milestones and production trials
  • Lead cross function problem resolution which impacts production delivery or quality
  • Ensure SQDCM KPIs are managed across the production area and are aligned to other production directors
  • Support company level senior management reviews such as Gateways Executive Committee CEO reviews PDFs etc
  • Experience in company level Transformation projects

Qualification & Experience:

  • Strong background in manufacturing operations including production planning assembly processes and quality assurance for unique highvalue vehicles.
  • Deep understanding of luxury vehicle production requirements including handcrafted assembly advanced finishing techniques and performance modifications.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets optimise costs and ensure profitability while delivering exceptional quality.
  • Experience leading crossfunctional teams including engineers production managers and technicians to execute special vehicle programs.
  • Track record of implementing quality control and continuous improvement initiatives in a highperformance automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple bespoke projects simultaneously.
  • Proven leadership in automotive manufacturing with experience in managing specialized vehicle production bespoke customisation or lowvolume highspecification builds.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies to drive efficiency while maintaining craftsmanship.
  • Strong technical knowledge of automotive engineering including materials science powertrains and advanced manufacturing technologies.
