Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the purchasing of commodities and services to support productionrequirements. Work includes reviewing requests; sourcing vendors examining price suitability and availability of items or services; comparing specifications; and reviewing alternatives. Support Launch teams through RFQ development analysis and negotiation of supplier quote responses Supplier Statement of Work Negotiation and Make vs. Buy analysis Supplier Relationship management and Conflict Resolution. Work is performed independently under the general direction of the Purchasing Manager

  • Support ECO and NPD teams through RFQ development analysis and negotiation of supplier quote responses Supplier Statement of Work Negotiation and Make vs. Buy analysis
  • Develop Sourcing Recommendations with supporting rationale and documentation
  • Set clear and concise expectations with suppliers to support business requirements
  • Ensure suppliers have
  • Act as point person for supplier relationship management and issue resolution; expedite material as required to support the production plan
  • Identify and implement cost savings through spend analysis supplier negotiations business resourcing and other purchasing methods
  • Participate as an extended member of the Global Commodity Team regarding commodity strategy minority business strategy supplier consolidation and cost savings
  • Support manufacturing operations and quality department with supplier issue resolution
  • Administrate Purchase Orders and Vendor Master information in the ERP system
  • Comply with purchasing policies/procedures as well as legal/ethical obligations
  • Navigate legal issues involving Terms and Conditions and identify issues that require professional legal assistance
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies in procure to pay system to ensure supplier accounts stay current
  • Recommends changes and consolidations that contribute to manufacturings requirements and support justintime philosophy
  • Maintains uptodate understanding of principles and methods of Lean including single piece flow and justintime
  • Researches and evaluates material usage then establishes ordering criteria to assure adequate but not excessive inventory on hand.
  • Applies historical usage trends plus backlog information to forecast procurement needs
  • Understands vendor capacity and limitations to ensure that Genie business is a reasonable portion of vendors total.
  • Ability to oversee and manage procurement projects including new supplier development capacity analysis qualification of new components and simultaneous burndown of existing components.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree with a Purchasing Supply Chain Management Business Materials or Technical educational background.
  • 13years experience purchasing commodities and services to support production and aftermarket requirements.
  • CPM or CPSM
  • Ability to analyze complex data identify and execute savings opportunities implement sourcing strategies and quickly execute tasks to realize benefits.
  • Ability to multitask multiple categories & projects. Ability to coordinate strategies/activities across multiple business functions.
  • Financial & quantitative analysis experience a plus. Problem solving skills essential
  • Verbal and written skills ability to communicate to all levels of management required.
  • Good negotiation and problemsolving skills. Adept at dealing with situations involving conflict and able to facilitate constructive resolution.
  • Must be computer literate and familiar with appropriate software programs. PC based software knowledge must include MS Excel MS Word and PowerPoint. Experience with Oracle and access or other SQL application is a plus.
  • Organized and capable of dealing with high volume of interactions with a broad crosssection of the company.
  • Able to effectively prioritize multiple priorities.
