POSITION SUMMARY
The Early Childhood Teacher at Primrose School is responsible for fostering a safe nurturing and stimulating environment where children can thrive emotionally socially and academically. This role involves supervising and guiding a group of young learners through developmentally appropriate activities aligned with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum while ensuring adherence to health safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is a dedicated professional with a passion for early childhood education capable of multitasking maintaining professionalism and collaborating effectively with colleagues and families. This position plays a critical role in laying a strong foundation for childrens future learning and development.

OBJECTIVES
  • Responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children.
  • Observes all rules and regulations at Primrose School and the local state or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health safety and care of children.
  • Assesses each childs developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum and programming.
  • Plans with a member of the Leadership Team the parentteacher conferences and student evaluations.
  • Maintains an attractive wellkept classroom that encourages children to create explore and make decisions with confidence.
  • Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the childrens behavior.
  • Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom common use areas and playgrounds.
  • Attends all required staff meetings workshops and/or school functions.
  • Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the Primrose School Employee Handbook
  • Assist in other capacities that the Director or designee determines is necessary.
COMPETENCIES
  • Understanding developmental milestones and how to support physical emotional cognitive and social growth.
  • Ability to deliver ageappropriate lesson plans that foster learning and exploration.
  • Establishing a structured safe and engaging learning environment that promotes positive behavior.
  • Building strong partnerships with parents and caregivers to support childrens learning and development
  • Managing and resolving conflicts between children in a constructive and supportive manner
  • Maintaining professionalism confidentiality and integrity in all interactions
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • 1 years of experience teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred
  • Knowledge of the social emotional and creative needs of young children
  • Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency (completion of at least 12 semester units in ECE or child development OR hold a CDA)
    • Infant Preschool Teachers: 2 year degree in early childhood or related field preferred
    • PreKindergarten Teachers: 4 year degree in early childhood or related field required
    • Kindergarten Teacher: 4 year degree in early childhood and certified to teach in the state in which the school operates required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs child safety and potential emergency situations.
  • For Infant and Young Toddler teachers they must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib.
