Job Description

Position Title: Studio Coordinator

Department: Retail

Primary Supervisor: Retail Manager

Direct Reports: None

Date Prepared: 03/2019

Exempt/NonExempt: NonExempt

Position Summary

The studio coordinator will help managers & the Director of Music Education to implement their strategic initiatives to increase lesson registrations and student retention as well as to serve as the onsite liaison between MMS and students & teachers. This position is held in conjunction with a retail customer service & sales position.


Essential Job Functions

  1. All duties as listed in Customer Serv/Sales job description
  2. Run weekly studio reports
  3. Run and distribute first scheduled day of week
  4. Include brief analysis of changes/concerns/needs with report
  5. Monitor teachers schedules for changes that need to be addressed
  6. Student Performances and activities
  7. Schedule and organize in store student performances at least 4 times per year
  8. Create instore activities to encourage lessons
  9. Teacher Relationships
  10. Develop positive relationship with all MMEC teachers
  11. Assist in scheduling and problem solving as needed
  12. Student Relationships
  13. Develop positive relationship with MMEC students & parents
  14. Contact all new students to welcome them to MMEC
  15. Create a friendly family environment
  16. Track survey results for any discontinuing students and adjust in Aimsi
  17. Communicate with store employees
  18. Schedule changes
  19. New teachers
  20. MMEC activities
  21. Maintain Student & teacher accounts in Aimsi
  22. Performs other duties as assigned by management

COMPENSATION

For this position the compensation begins at $16 per hour plus commission and potential yearly bonus. Total compensation will include base compensation plus commissions paid out monthly and if eligible a bonus paid out yearly.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • College Education or equivalent teaching experience preferred
  • 6 months retail customer service/sales experience with MMS

Necessary Competencies

  • Interaction with Others Oral and Written Communication
  • Music/Instrument Knowledge Basic understanding of types of musical instruments
  • Technical Literacy Proficient Computer Skill (MS Office especially Excel)
  • Individual Contributor Competencies Work Management and Dependability
  • Interpersonal Relations Social Abilities
  • Job Knowledge Accurate and Complete Work
