The RN Electrophysiology Technician role carries out specialized nursing care within the electrophysiology lab setting. This position supports collaboration with the healthcare team to provide advanced patient care during procedures ensuring precision and adherence to established protocols for optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
Assesses patients medical history and current condition to prepare them for electrophysiology procedures.
Prepares specialized equipment and monitors patients during procedures ensuring safety and optimal outcomes.
Helps administer medications and maintains accurate documentation of patients responses and procedural details.
Collaborates with the healthcare team including physicians and technicians to support smooth and successful procedures.
Provides patient education and support before during and after electrophysiology procedures.
Adheres to professional advancement program requirements engages in ongoing education and mentors others to promote professional growth and development to stay updated with the latest advancements in the field leading to improved patient care and clinical expertise.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Required: Associates Degree in Nursing Hospital Administration or another Allied Health Curriculum
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Completion of New Graduate program
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state RCIS for Cath Lab RCES or IBHRE for EP CCRN or RCIS for holding room BLS (CPR)American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
