About this unique opportunity
The Hobart Clinic is recruiting for Specialist Medical Practitioners Consultant Psychiatrists to join our team.
We are keen to hear from all interested Psychiatrists including:
Earlycareer Psychiatrists looking for a supportive clinical team to consolidate your knowledge and experience gained from your RANZCP Fellowship;
Midcareer Psychiatrists looking to practice your skills in contemporary psychiatry practices including a support environment to learn and practice TMS; and/or
Latecareer/preretirement Psychiatrists looking for a flexible role in a cohesive team with an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy for the next generation of Psychiatrists and provide much needed mental health services for our community.
We are open to the following options:
(i)Fixed locum contract 3 months);
(ii)Initial locum contract with transition to ongoing role when you realise what a great place Tasmania is to live and how much you enjoy working at The Hobart Clinic;
(iii)Direct appointment to an ongoing role because you already know about the joys of living in Hobart and working with us; or
(iv)Any proposal to partner with a likeminded organisation interested in working with us to provide access to much needed Psychiatrists.
Full time or part time options are available. We offer competitive remuneration packages and support for relocation is available. We will also support Psychiatrists interested in mixed arrangements for example working parttime as an employee and establishing a private VMO practice. We are also interested in exploring opportunities to provide part onsite and partremote via telehealth.

The Hobart Clinic Association Limited is a NotForProfit Company Limited by Guarantee and registered Charity. We operate a 27bed psychiatric hospital on 7 acres in Rokeby an outer suburb of Hobart and The Hobart Clinic MindHub in Hobart CBD providing consulting suites and facilities for therapeutic groups.
In a year when many nongovernment Psychiatric hospitals have been closing down 2024 is the year that The Hobart Clinic celebrates our 40year anniversary. We are an important part of the fabric of our community.
The Clinic enjoys strong support from the Tasmanian Government and a positive collaborative relationship with our colleagues in the Tasmanian Health Service. With a new PublicinPrivate contract underway with options to extend we have a positive financial outlook this year and beyond.
