Job Description

Join us at CCCN to further our mission of empowering the childcare workforce in Nassau County through enhancing programs. The Early Childhood Trainer will play a key role in organizing and executing topnotch professional development opportunities in early childhood education.

  • Provide support coaching guidance and consultation to licensed and registered childcare programs throughout Long Island including technical assistance training observations and assessments on child development program operations health and safety family engagement and OCFS regulations.
  • Implement grantfunded educational programs and assist in delivering contracted initiatives quality strategies and similar projects that expand partnerships with government education and community organizations.
  • Develop and implement training and professional development sessions on topics such as child development learning environments classroom management health and safety and OCFS regulations.
  • Participate in functions of the NYS Early Care and Learning Council Infant Toddler Network.
  • Document and report information related to our grants and various contracts regarding the essential work we do to support the Early Childhood workforce.
  • Work collaboratively with all CCCN departments.
  • Work collaboratively with the Child Care Council of Suffolk to develop the regional Theory of Change Model for the Infant Toddler Network.
  • Build relationships with Early Childhood Educators and programs using a strengthsbased reflective approach to professional development.
  • Maintain professional resources that include books videos pamphlets brochures etc. that promote best practices for infant toddler care.
  • Participate in applicable inservice and professional development activities.
  • Assist in the creation and dissemination of professional development opportunities through brochures/publications.
  • Perform additional tasks as required by the supervisor.
  • CDA Associate degree in early childhood education or 2 years of experience working in a leadership or supervisory role in an early childhood setting ORAn associates degree in a related field AND 2 years of experience working in a leadership or supervisory role in an early childhood setting.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus for this role.
  • Direct care experience with infants and toddlers is essential.
  • Candidates must have a willingness to learn and possess knowledge about infant/toddler care early education regulations and child development.
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary to engage effectively with diverse communities.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive is a must.
  • Comfort with public speaking and conducting training sessions is preferred.
  • The role involves local and regional travel across Long Island including overnight trips for conferences.
  • Proactive problemsolving skills and a strengthsbased support approach are valued.
  • Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and manage extended use of technology and phones.
  • Successful candidates must obtain the New York State TTAP Credential within 180 days of hire.
