Job Posting Title:

Veteran Student Success Assistant (Hourly)

Job Description Summary:

Support the Centers for Veteran Student Success Coordinator with the planning implementation and delivery of programs services and events to boost veteran benefit and resource utilization by students including prospective students in the ACC service area. This role requires local travel within the ACC service area availability during evenings and occasional Saturdays.

Disclaimer: This grant funded position has an end date of December 31 2027 and is subject to annual review and reevaluation based on the organizations fiscal year planning. Continued employment beyond each fiscal year is not guaranteed and will depend on factors such as business needs budget allocations and performance evaluations. The organization reserves the right to modify extend or discontinue the position at its discretion following each review or at any time prior.

Description of Duties and Tasks

  • Creates a range of educational content (including newsletters emails presentations and website management) and materials (e.g. flyers and brochures) to support veterans.

  • Supports and assists with the implementation of proactive interventions and support activities to enhance student access and retention for veterans.

  • Assists with the coordination and implementation outreach projects across the district.

  • Assists with gathering data for various reports.

  • Maintains active involvement by serving on the Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee.

Knowledge

  • Office procedures and practices.

  • Customer service techniques.

Skills

  • Maintaining confidentiality of workrelated information and materials.

  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

  • Maintaining an established work schedule.

  • Effectively using interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Effectively using organizational and planning skills.

  • Entering data maintaining files and performing other clerical duties.

  • Effective customerorientation when working with a diverse population.

Technology Skills

  • Use a variety of spreadsheet word processing database and presentation software.

  • May also use social media work with desktop publishing and update webpages.

Required Work Experience

  • Two years of related work experience.

Preferred Work Experience

  • Two years of experience supporting veterans through planning coordinating and implementing educational programs and outreach events.

Required Education

  • Associates degree.

  • Equivalent work experience may substitute for education on a yearforyear basis.
