Job Description
In Growth Engineering our goal is to increase the number of transacting Customers while also growing their purchase frequency and lifetime value. We build core platforms and services that power Coupangs growth. Various platforms under our portfolio include Search Advertising Platform Affiliate Platform Display targeting & retargeting Platform CRM Audience Platform Push Marketing Platform and other core marketing services for landing tracking & attribution. ML opportunities across these portfolios include targeting personalization product & offer recommendations budget optimization realtime bidding creative optimization fraud detection and various others.You will play a critical role in driving innovation in Machine Learning enablement of Growth / Marketing platforms. You will design & develop end to end machine learning solutions to drive impact across our portfolio of platforms. You will collaborate with various Growth Engineering teams to build and deploy ML models & services that will directly help grow customers increase wallet share and improve ROAS. - Drive endtoend Engineering and Machine learning methods that have a high degree of ambiguity scale and complexity
- Build machine learning models perform proofofconcept experiment optimize and deploy your models into production.
- Establish scalable efficient automated processes for data analysis machinelearning model development model validation and serving.
- Present results and explain methods to the leadership.
- Mentor junior engineers on the team and partner teams and help to uplevel ML talent across the company.
- 8 years working experience in the engineering teams that build largescale MLdriven userfacing products
- Extensive knowledge in deep learning
- Experience with state of the art ML modeling techniques and approaches like transformers self supervised pretraining generative modeling LLMs etc.
- Handson experience training and applying models at scale.
- Proficient coding skills in Java C or Python
- Masters or PhD in Comp Sci or related fields
- Experience in working on backend and ML systems for largescale userfacing products and have a good understanding of how they all work.
- Experience in closely collaborating with other engineering teams to ship new ML technologies.
- The ideal candidate will possess the selfmotivation curiosity creativity and initiative to achieve goals.
Pay & Benefits
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. At Coupang your base pay is one part of your total compensation.
The base pay for this position ranges from $138000/year in our lowest geographic market to $297000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending onjobrelated knowledge skills and experience.
