Job Description

The mission of the Office for Public Good Strategy and Research (OPG) is to advance institutional readiness for collaboration among students staff faculty and community partners for public good discovery. The OPG is situated in Academic Affairs which embodies DUs public good vision by advancing collaboration that supports intellectual inquiry integrative learning and public good discovery. Of the four academic areas that are core to Academic Affairs OPG programs and initiatives contribute directly to 1) Public Good Strategy and Research and 2) High Impact Practices (HIPs). The OPG includes programs centers and initiatives to advance transdisciplinary collaboration through community engagement signature work regeneration leadership and health strategies. OPG programs centers and initiatives apply DUs four-dimensional (4D) experience to key strategies to emphasize the scholarship of discovery teaching integration and application (intellectual growth) civic health (wellness) public identity development (character) and the importance of the liberal arts for public problem solving (careers and lives of purpose).

Position Summary

The Program Manager supports the mission of the OPG by coordinating operations for cohorted learning programs that are part of the Signature Work Initiative. This role contributes to the design and implementation of academic and co-curricular programming supports strategic planning and collaborates with faculty and staff to enhance student retention and success. The Program Manager reports to the Associate Vice Provost for Public Good Strategy & Research.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate the design and implementation of cohorted learning programs such as Puksta Scholars and Learning Cohorts in collaboration with faculty and staff.
  • Develop and support co-curricular programming including retreats and events and assist with program evaluation.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of new programs like Whats Your Why: Heres Your How.
  • Support student action plan processes and promote their use across the university.
  • Collaborate with faculty and leadership to advance integrative learning and high-impact practices particularly those supporting student research.
  • Assist in securing and stewarding external support and coordinate with external stakeholders such as the Puksta Foundation.
  • Build partnerships with campus units to support programming and student pipelines (e.g. Housing and Residential Education Student Affairs and Inclusive Excellence including Discoveries Orientation Health Promotion Parent and Family Engagement and the DU Programming Council).
  • Supervise student employees and Graduate Mentor Fellows.
  • Support administrative functions including reporting financial processes and vendor coordination in collaboration with the Operations team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 2 years project management experience preferably in Higher Education
  • Experience applying diversity-equity and inclusion principles in related work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in related field to leadership development or student personnel
  • 2 years of program implementation with undergraduate students

Working Environment

  • Standard office environment.
  • Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
  • Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Physical Activities

  • Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to move about the office/campus.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Salary Grade Number

The salary grade for the position is 8.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $56500 - $58000.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate departmental budget availability internal salary equity considerations and available market information but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
