Summary
The Cyber Security Compliance Specialist II position is responsible for planning developing and maintaining cyber security policies and plans for classified or proprietary materials products services electronic documents and information systems. This role is also responsible for assuring that policies procedures and plans comply with Department of Energy (DOE) orders and requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares and assures the implementation of cyber security policies and procedures system and application security plans risk assessments and training materials.
- Demonstrates familiarity with requirements and policies that support interaction with the National Nuclear Security Administration Department of Energy Head Quarters (DOE HQ) and other leadership.
- Plans develops coordinates evaluates and presents cyber security awareness training.
- Coordinates with DOE/NNSA to obtain rulings interpretations and acceptable deviations in regard to regulation/order compliance.
- Represents team in meetings with internal/external customers.
- Recommends and/or implements policies and procedures in support of management objectives.
- Develops and facilitates internal/external communications which may include processing and distribution of information through communications services.
- Plans and schedules cyber security project activities to include monitoring and reporting project progress.
You Must Have
- 3 years of related experience in cyber security security programs or compliance assurance
- Bachelors degree in cyber security Computer Science Computer Engineering Information Systems a related discipline or 2 additional years of direct work experience in lieu of bachelors degree
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Ability to travel up to 15 of the time
- Ability to work remote hybrid or onsite as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.

- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
We Value
- Previous experience as a Information System Security Officer (ISSO).
- Prior experience with the Archer GRC tool.
- Demonstrates ability to read and comprehend government compliance documents maintain accurate records prioritize work from multiple projects and analyze problems to develop innovative and effective solutions.
- Possesses knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) special publications (Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 3 80037 and the certification and accreditation process.
- Industry certifications i.e. CISSP CISA etc. preferred.
- Advanced degree (i.e. masters degree) preferred.
- Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrates interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management and employees.
- Demonstrates initiative to maintain technical/compliance currency through outside studies and training.
- Possesses skills in analyzing and interpreting computer system audit reports.
