Boliden Smelters is looking for a person with the ability to lead and support the selected strategic R&D and technology development projects in the Business Area Smelters.
Work tasks
As a Metallurgist in Business Area Smelters (BA) you will be responsible for managing and supporting with your own competence the strategic Technology development and R&D projects. As the business area perspective and scope of work often covers all our smelter sites your contribution will have an impact on the success of the whole business area. You work closely with our site metallurgists and engineers as well as collaborating with external partners.
Main responsibilities are:
Coordinate and manage selected R&D projects successfully through Boliden Smelters project development pipeline
Provide valuable support and guidance to the projects with your own strong metallurgical knowhow and competence
Build strong future business cases presented to management team
Support in business area strategy evaluation and creation from idea to ready business case
Collaborate and contribute positively to the Boliden internal R&D and technology development network
Collaborate and contribute positively to the key external partner networks
Evaluate potential future process technologies based on Boliden needs
You report to the Technology and Strategy Manager of Business Area Smelters.
Education and qualifications
We are looking for a person with excellent structural processoriented communication analytic logic and cooperation skills. A person who can explain business needs and process improvement potentials with the ability to simplify the complex. Someone with the ability to go from the detailed view to strategic. We are looking for a person who has the courage and competence to challenge the existing ways of working and takes initiatives.
In terms of qualifications and personality we are looking for the following in the ideal candidate:
Experience from working in matrix organizations will be considered as an advantage. You communicate in a convincing way and can build and maintain relationships influence and align relevant stakeholders without having the formal personnel responsibility.
You are probably a person who is enthusiastic about metals and metallurgical processes and consider metals as an essential part of our sustainable society.

Information
The position is fulltime and permanent. The preferred location is Stockholm or one of the Boliden Smelter sites. As the company has activities in several locations frequent travel will be required.
