Location: Delhi/Jaipur

Purpose:

CEEW is looking for qualified individuals passionateabout bringing solar revolution to agricultural consumers by facilitatingadoption under the ongoing PM KUSUM scheme. This role will require thecandidates to actively engage with central ministries and concerned statedepartments to provide necessary implementation and research support to developfitforpurpose solutions towards accelerating the PM KUSUM rollout byovercoming market barriers. Having prior knowledge of various policiesprogrammes and regulations associated with the PM KUSUM scheme and the Indianagricultural system would be an added advantage. CEEWs Energy Transitions teamserves as a knowledge partner to various state nodal agencies and assists inimplementing schemes outlined in their renewable energy policies. The aim ofthe project is to identify barriers and suggest institutional financialtechnological regulatory and behavioural solutions to enhance the adoption ofsolar agriculture in India. The candidate should have prior experience inconducting both qualitative and quantitative research and must be able tocollaborate effectively with industry government and civil societystakeholders at the state and substate levels.

Job Duties andAccountabilities

PrimaryResponsibilities

Regularly trackimportant research findings policy and regulatory developments in the sectorand conduct rigorous literature review.

Conducting research:The research analyst will be responsible for conducting thorough research intosolar agriculture. This will involve reviewing existing literature conductingfield studies and gathering data to gain a deeper understanding of the field.

Analysing data: Theresearch analyst will be responsible for analysing data related to solaragriculture. This will involve using statistical and technical softwares (likepython SAM excel etc. and other tools to identify trends patterns andcorrelations in the data. It will also involvetravel to project sites to collect data or conduct interviews for research.

Actioning the research finding: Theresearch analysts must communicate their findings to various audiencesincluding researchers policymakers and the public. This will involve writingarticles for academic journals presenting at conferences or creatingeducational materials for the public with thehelp of CEEWs outreach team.

Collaborating withothers: The research analyst will need to work closely with other researchersfarmers solar developers state officials and other stakeholders in therenewables and agriculture industry. Collaboration will be essential to ensurethat the research is relevant and valuable to those who will be implementingsolar agriculture practices.

Identifying newresearch opportunities: The research analyst will be responsible foridentifying new research opportunities in the field of solar agriculture. Thiswill involve keeping uptodate with the latest developments in solartechnology and agriculture and identifying areas where further research isneeded to advance the field.

SelectionCriteria

Educationand Experience

Masters degree in public policy energy engineering electricalengineering mechanical engineering energy economics or related field.

At least 13 years of relevant work experience. Howevercandidates with extremely strong quantitative skills with lesser experience mayalso be considered.

The candidate mustpossess a robust research background demonstrated by peerreviewed publications.

The candidate shouldpossess indepth knowledge of the electricity distribution and solar sector.

Keyskills

Strong ability toorganise process and analyse large data sets that are used and derivedthrough power/energy models.

Excellent written andoral communication skills.

Ability to summariseand communicate the insights/findings as reports and presentations.

Strong technicalexpertise and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in MSExcel and understanding of programming languages like Python R and othersoftware for performing quantitative analysis/simulations.

Proficiency in Hindiand English is a must; proficiency in multiple languages is preferred.

Experience in engagingwith different stakeholders including central and state government officialsDISCOM officials and researchers.

Personality

Willingness to work onmultidisciplinary projects.

Willingness to learnnew research and project management skills.

Ability to identifycreative solutions to vexing challenges in taking policy to action.

Ability to adapt anddeliver under tight deadlines in a professional environment.
