Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer

Position Summary

The Mainframe Systems Programmer provides support for ongoing projects that require the installation testing and implementation of new operating systems and other system software. Also the Maintenance and debugging of systems software. Research and evaluation of new software and hardware products assisting team members and other areas with technical questions and problem resolution. Monitoring and tuning of systems software. Functional knowledge use of z/OS components and detailed knowledge of support products such as tape management scheduling security monitoring systems etc.

Key Areas of Focus for this Role

• Low complexity assignments * provide oversight/review.
• Understands how whole picture aligns to overall Ensono strategy.
• Works directly with Hardware and Software vendors on new solutions.
• Review and analyze current client software and requirements to determine the most costeffective and standard software solution to be included in the business proposal.
• Provide and document problem analysis resolution and prevention designing procedures and best practice techniques.

z/OS & Tools your main tasks are related to:

• Incident change and problem handling.
• Configuration and customization.
• Setup of parameters.
• Communication with vendors.
• Participation/contribution to technical projects.
• In depth knowledge and understanding of z/OSand related product software z/OS.
• PARMLIB configuration and JES2 customization.
• Ability to support in solving problems and implementing changes on z/OS environments.
• Advanced knowledge of TSO/ISPF SDSF JCL.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Ability to take the lead in problem solving and coordination of multidisciplinary groups.
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience managing a team within a mainframe environment within a large enterprise or equivalent combination of education and experience
• College degree preferred
• Knowledge and understanding of z/OS.
• Advanced knowledge of TSO/ISPF SDSF JCL.
• Advanced knowledge of Unix System Services (USS)
• Advanced knowledge of Unix System Services (USS) file system management and security
• Experience installing software within Unix System Services (USS)
• Ability to work well as a team member.
• Stress resistant in case of Major Incident and/or emergency situations.
• Very good communication abilities.
• Ability to deal with multitask issues.
• Methodical and disciplined approach to work.
• Excellent analytical skills and problemsolving capabilities.
• Good planning and organizational skills.
• Initiative and good learning abilities.

Additional Considerations

• Knowledgeable in z/OS security.

• Knowledgeable in z/OS systems programming functions.
• Knowledgeable in DB2 CICS or IMS.
• Understand z/OS services structure Parallel sysplex Catalog management.
• z/OS HW LPAR HMC REXX.
• Experience with Dynamic Workload Console.

As of the date of this posting a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this role is $80000 to $148000 annually based on a fulltime schedule. Please note that placement in the range may vary based on numerous factors including but not limited to skills experience internal equity and business needs. In addition to base salary other compensation programs depending on eligibility include an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performanceand an equity grant under our Associate Equity Appreciation Program.
