DescriptionJOB SUMMARY
Performs independent management level work directed toward the planning development implementation assistance and evaluation of assigned project(s). Requires ongoing scientific review of multiple research projects for reporting accuracy identification of project risks and formulation of corrective actions and potential crossproject collaborations. Performs assessments of project costs across performance milestones. Ensures efficient and accurate data management and manages compliance by working with IRB IACUC COI ACURO and OHRO. Requires the use of judgement and discretion in performing the assigned duties and responsibilities related to the projects.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD degree in relevant discipline (for example: biology chemistry health sciences public health bioengineering) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and internal/external customer service skills required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Experience with computerized databases (e.g. Microsoft Excel) word processing (e.g. Microsoft Word) and presentation software (e.g. Microsoft PowerPoint).
- Demonstrates ability to work independently.
- Ability to understand interpret and apply laws regulations and policies.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities/deadlines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for the planning development implementation assistance and evaluation of multiple projects.
- Prepare reports for the AFIRM Coordinating Center (CC).
- Assist with the review and correction of research project reports.
- Develop and assist with the management of budgets both for the AFIRM CC and the individual research projects
- Assist with the development of computerized methods for monitoring and reporting on various program aspects.
- Coordinate human use and animal use approval documents. Reviews human and animal use reports for timeliness accuracy and completeness.
- As needed coordinate project meetings create meeting agendas attend and provide minutes for internal review and submission to the government.
- Assists in the development of a tracking system of program milestones for the coordinating center and for individual science projects.
- Act as liaison with project PIs to assist them with development of reports.
- Assist in management of scientific content for the AFIRM program web site.
- Ensure project abstracts are up to date
- Collect inquiries and forward to appropriate internal team members
- Manage submission and posting of project scientific progress articles
- Represents and supports the WFIRM Programs Management Officer at designated meetings and conference related to work scope.
- Always interact professionally with internal multidisciplinary team and external collaborators and government sponsors.
- Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
