Job Description Summary
For Grid Solutions Offshore HVDC represents a key differentiating technology and a central focus for the business particularly in Europe where Transmission System Operators have very ambitious renewable energy targets. In that context and for Germany Grid Solutions is partnering with TenneT which plans to invest more than $30B by 2030 in deploying new HVDC converter stations to bring Offshore Wind energy into Germany and the Netherlands.In this context Grid Solutions is looking for a Project Manager who will oversee the packages related to Innovation track and R&D initiatives within a portfolio of several mega HVDC projects in Germany (contracts value > $1B).
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Manage R&D and design improvements initiatives within the 2GW HVDC portfolio including alignment of budget planning and
- Manage the interfaces between the project engineering team vs customer and partner engineering teams within the corresponding R&D and design improvement activities
- Act as the internal focal point for R&D activities between different functions (engineering project management finance)
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders across region and portfolio. Resolving issues and conflicting requirements in a timely manner.
- Provide inputs and solutions that allow for minimal thirdparty impact whilst maintaining effective project delivery.
- Produce and maintain appropriate standardized documents and regular reporting to the senior management and other stakeholders reflecting key issues resolutions and performance with regards to R&D activities status.
- Ensure a collaborative approach across the team to facilitate the planning and delivery of interface works ensuring all issues are clearly understood by teams and addressed and appropriately.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelors Masters or another relevant degree in Electrical Engineering Project managemenet or similar discipline.
- Strong working experience with big and complex projects preferably in oil & gas grid energy or offshore (wind).
- Experience in R&D projects is a plus
- Fluency in English; excellent communication & cooperation skills.
- German is a plus
- PMP Certification or equivalent is a plus.
- Ability to deepdive into complex analytical issues; mastery of MS Office tools (e.g. Excel)
- Successful experience in a matrix and international environment.
