The Nueva School seeks a Middle School Associate Teacher in Mathematics. The ideal candidate will have significant experience and interest in the field of mathematics and be excited to work with middle school (fifth to eighthgrade) students. Experience working with youth is required. This is a fulltime inperson position with a competitive salary and full benefits.
Wellqualified candidates will be creative energetic and passionate people with a strong background in mathematics including Algebra Geometry Number Theory and Statistics. They will have a strong constructivist approach and pedagogical background allowing them to support students with indepth exploration of mathematical concepts and the improvement of their problemsolving abilities. They will have experience teaching or tutoring high school level math concepts. Candidates will be excited to collaborate regularly with colleagues and be open to offering and receiving regular feedback.
Associate Teachers work closely with mentor teachers through an apprenticeship model. They spend each day in the classroom working with students collaborating with teachers building curriculum teaching lessons assessing student work writing narrative evaluations and reflecting upon their practice. In addition Associate Teachers participate in the Innovative Teacher Program (ITP) a twoyear program designed to provide classroom teaching experience mentorship and weekly professional development opportunities for new and developing teachers.
Associate Teachers are members of the Nueva community of educators one defined by collaboration inquiry reflection and lifelong learning. They participate in all aspects of school life including serving as coadvisors preparing parentteacher conferences chaperoning school trips and attending faculty and math team meetings and school events. During their second year Associate Teachers develop a teaching portfolio and receive support in applying for positions and/or graduate school building a rsum and preparing for interviews.

Qualifications
Bachelors degree with strong math foundation (coursework in math)
Strong content knowledge of high school level Algebra Geometry Number Theory and Statistics
Deep interest and desire to work with middle school students
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Compensation and Benefits
The fulltime salary range for this position is from $60700 $77600. The starting salary is based upon but not limited to several factors that include type and years of creditable experience education level and expertise.
