Overview
The TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) English Teacher plays a crucial role in nurturing and developing the linguistic abilities of students in grades 6 to 10. As an integral part of the educational institution the TGT English Teacher not only imparts knowledge of English language and literature but also fosters a love for reading and selfexpression among students. This role requires a keen understanding of diverse teaching methodologies effective communication skills and the ability to create a stimulating learning environment. The TGT English Teacher shapes students critical thinking enhances their creativity and encourages them to articulate their thoughts clearly and confidently. With a dedication to academic excellence and the holistic development of each student this position contributes significantly to the overall educational mission of the school helping prepare students for future academic endeavors and realworld challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the curriculum.
- Facilitate classroom discussions and encourage student participation.
- Assess student performance through various evaluation methods.
- Provide constructive feedback on students written and verbal work.
- Incorporate technology and multimedia resources into teaching.
- Develop individual education plans for diverse learners.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Organize literaturebased activities including book clubs and debates.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to enhance interdisciplinary learning.
- Communicate with parents regarding student performance and behavior.
- Participate in professional development and staff training sessions.
- Promote literacy initiatives and encourage a reading culture.
- Manage classroom behavior and implement discipline strategies effectively.
- Conduct extracurricular activities related to English language arts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in English or Education.
- Master s degree in English or a related field (preferred).
- Valid teaching certification for secondary education.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in English language and literature.
- Strong understanding of educational pedagogy and theory.
- Experience with contemporary teaching technologies.
- Excellent organizational and timemanagement skills.
- Ability to create a supportive and stimulating learning environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
