Provides direct and constant patron and pool surveillance while on dutyin accordance withStarguardElite Lifeguard Program requirements.
Responds to emergency situations and provides first aid and/or emergency care within limits of training; completes appropriate reports.
Provides excellent customer service to both patrons and staff; resolves complaints anddifficult situationsas.
Coordinates andassistsin the completion of daily cleaning and preventative maintenance checklists for the assigned facility as directed.
Assistsin the training and supervision of Lifeguards and Head Lifeguards.
Assistsin the and review of the Aquatics Divisions Audit and Shadow Programs.
Assistsin theoverall safetymaintenanceand cleanliness of the aquatics facility during the assigned shift.
Performs otherrelatedduties as assigned.
The requirements listed below are representative of the education experiencecertificationand/or licensure. An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties and meet the necessary employment standards may be considered.
Must be at leastseventeen17 years of age.
Three 3 years of active lifeguard experience and one 1 year of lifeguard management experience is.
Possession of or the ability to obtain the following certifications upon hire: lifeguarding Lifeguarding Instructor (LGI) (certification from any nationally recognized agency is accepted).
Possession of or the ability to obtainone 1 of the following certifications within one 1 year of hire:Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO).

Skill inthe use of life saving equipment.
Skill in verbal and written communication.
Ability toswim to a depth oftwelve 12feet; and respond to both land and waterbased emergencies.
Ability to handle incidents reports and confrontations in a recreation facility.
Ability to provide a positive customer service attitude towards all people entering the facility.
Ability tooperatepool related machinery and equipment and provide basic maintenance tasks.

Tools & Equipment
Requires frequent use of general office pool and lifesaving equipment and tools.
Physical Demands

Environment
Work isfrequentlyperformed inboth indoorclimatecontrolledand outdoor pool environments. Employees holding this positionwillbe exposed to cold or heat and wetness/humidity. The noise level isusually highand may range from moderate to extreme.The employee may occasionally work with or around hazardous items or hazardous conditions such as mechanical equipment electrical equipment chemicals or radiant energy.
