Job Description

The Vice President of Creative is a critical member of the Madison Reed marketing leadership team and strategic role for the Madison Reed brand. As the Vice President of Creative you will play a pivotal role in shaping the overall creative vision and direction for Madison Reed. You will lead the creative strategy for all brand initiatives including the overarching aesthetic and tone & voice for the brand brand campaigns product launches photography and videography direction as well as omni channel creative . The ideal candidate will be a forwardthinking leader with extensive experience in developing breakthrough emotionally arresting elevated modern creative for consumer brands (beauty and hair care preferred) an understanding of consumer trends and the ability to drive innovation through compelling creative storytelling.

This role reports to the Chief Marketing Officer is full time and remote. While remote this position should expect to be able to travel up to 40 from home including but not limited to team meetings Quarterly Business meetings trips to contract manufacturers and companysponsored events.

The base salary range for this position is between 190k and 250k. At Madison Reed we aim to pay competitively. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market skills education experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Responsibilities:

Creative Leadership & Strategy:

  • Develop global creative vision strategy and direction across brand touchpoints that helps differentiate the Madison Reed brand and ensures excellence in the of this vision and consistency across all channels and touchpoints.
  • Own and champion the creative brand DNA aesthetic & tone and voice for the brand
  • Lead inspire and mentor a highperforming team fostering a culture of creativity collaboration and innovation.
  • Build out and oversee art direction photography/videography editorial digital design print design and packaging design teams
  • Partner with key stakeholders including Marketing Product Development and Omni Sales Channel teams to bring a breakthrough brand strategy and experience to life and ensure creative initiatives help achieve the brands growth and business objectives.
  • Inspire creative team to innovate in how the brand comes to life creatively across channels; foster an environment of curiosity and creative experimentation
  • Stay ahead of industry trends consumer insights and emerging technologies to keep the brand at the forefront of the beauty and hair color space.
  • Coown and manage creative budget with Sr. Director of Marketing & Creative Operations

Campaign Development:

  • Lead creative team in the annual and seasonal brand and product creative development from concept to omni channel
  • Oversee the creative of integrated marketing campaigns ensuring they resonate with target audiences and elevate the brands positioning.
  • Accountable for all creative asset development including omnichannel brand presence (i.e. instore VM/collateral site email paid/growth marketing social and video content product marketing videos emerging channels etc.

Brand Identity & Messaging:

  • Ensure brand messaging and creative is clear compelling and consistent across all creative outputs from advertising to packaging and web experiences.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the brands voice ensuring it aligns with the companys values and connects with diverse customer segments.

Collaboration & Crossfunctional Alignment:

  • Collaborate with the Chief Marketing Officer and senior leadership to ensure creative strategies drive business goals.
  • Ensure all internal/agency partner output is in line with overall brand strategy and objectives
  • Partner with external agencies photographers videographers and designers to execute creative projects to the highest standards.

Innovation & Creativity:

  • Drive the creative evolution of the brand identifying new opportunities for brand and product campaigns digital content and customer engagement.
  • Leverage insights from consumer behavior market trends and social media to inform and inspire new creative concepts.
  • Deep understanding and passion for creative across rapidlyevolving digital channels

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Design Marketing Creative Writing Advertising Fine Arts or related field and 15 years of experience working in a creative capacity in the global consumer products market
  • Hands on design experience and/or copywriting with 10 years experience
  • Strong portfolio that demonstrates creative innovation aesthetic sensibility and deep understanding of beauty and fashion trends.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and executing highimpact creative campaigns across multiple platforms.
  • Expertise in digital media including social media video content and ecommerce.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team of creatives.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior leadership and crossfunctional teams.
  • Excellent brand building and team leadership skills
  • Strong ability to build teams from scratch and scaled to meet growing business demand
  • Proven change agent and ability to swiftly mobilize teams to changing demands
  • Leverages deep expertise of competitive landscape and trends
  • Demonstrates influential leadership; respects and incorporates the needs of stakeholders
  • Possesses a high degree of organizational agility; must be productive in a fastpaced entrepreneurial culture and thrive in an environment of rapid decision making frequently changing priorities and the ability to get products to market quickly
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to work across multiple departments and lead crossfunctional teams.
  • Passion for the beauty industry and a deep understanding of consumer preferences in the hair care and color space.
