The Director of Development is responsible for creating a climate conducive for giving by developing and securing gifts (outright and pledged) of $25000 for assigned schools and colleges special programs and projects new initiatives and campaigns. This includes identifying prospects to determine their potential as donors through strategic cultivation and welltried solicitations in the tristate area and other related regions as assigned. Closing and stewarding gifts for assigned prospects is also critical to the role. The Director of Development may also serve as UA/Development staff liaison to assigned volunteer groups providing to them highquality fundraising counsel guidance and assistance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1 Qualify cultivate solicit and close major gifts for assigned schools and prospects in the tristate area 60
2 Qualify cultivate solicit close and steward major gifts for prospects residing in other regions 20
3 Providing fundraising counsel and assistance to University councils and groups as assigned. 10
4 Participate in Major Gift Team Department Division Advancement Team(s) college(s)and University meetings events and activities as required/assigned 10
Required Qualifications:
BA plus 35 years in advancement or a related field preferably in higher education and be passionate about building relationships with donors alumni parents and friends. The Director of Development will have a track record that demonstrates solid fundraising results and demonstrated success in soliciting and closing major gifts and have demonstrated success in working closely with a Dean or senior leader of an organization as well as experience working with groups comprising prominent corporate and community volunteers and alumni.
Valid drivers license and access to reliable auto for travel related to position accountabilities

The successful candidate must also be able to balance collaboration with the team with expectations as an individual fundraising contributor.
