Opportunity Overview
The Teradyne Hardware Engineering team is seeking a highly motivated energetic Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to focus on the development of hardware products within the Semiconductor Test Division. Development occurs in a dynamic multisite environment.
The successful candidate for this challenging position will design cutting edge electronic hardware used to test integrated circuits in test systems around the world. While the position is principally an electronic hardware designer the engineer will gain experience with all aspects of modern complex system development in a collaborative environment. These aspects include hardware software and logic design; design for test and manufacturability; thermal management; mechanical engineering; requirements development and management; and other engineering disciplines.
In Fridley MN we are a closeknit team working in an exciting focused atmosphere. We develop instruments for testing ICs used in many of todays electronic products. Our products integrate stateoftheart digital and analog designs along with novel cooling techniques.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hardware Engineer specializing in PCIe Gen5/6 technology to join our team. As a PCIe Gen5/6 Hardware Engineer you will be responsible for the design development and validation of highperformance systems utilizing the latest PCIe technology.
You will work closely with cross functional engineering teams such as firmware software QA thermal design mechanical design. and manufacturing. Hardware designers must be able to work as part of these cross functional teams and be able to navigate the challenges that occur in designing complex products.

- BSEE or MSEE in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- 10 years of industry experience
- Has performed PCIE compliance testing (TX and RX) for Gen 4 and/or Gen 5 systems
- Experience debugging PCIE issues
- Experience with BERT and highspeed scopes including selection of proper equipment
- Proven track record on highspeed digital signal integrity and layout
- Knowledge of Tx/Rx equalization techniques and adaptation
- Knowledge of link jitter budget for highspeed serial links and key block level requirements
- Understanding of firmware/driver structures and their interaction with HW.
- Strong understanding of SERDES technology and protocols (e.g. PCIe CXL 100G Ethernet).
- Strong scripting experience
- Knowledge of schematic capture is a plus
- Proficiency with circuit simulation tools (e.g. IBIS SPICE) is a plus
- Experience with common lab bench top equipment
- Thrives in dynamic and demanding settings

- Knowledge of PCB layout experience is a plus
Compensation:
The base salary range for this role is$00 This range is a good faith estimate and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
