Title: Lead AI/ML Specialist

Summary of Role:
Acts as a liaison between the IT data engineering and analytics group and business units for the development and implementation of new AI and Data Science models and/or enhancement of existing data models systems and workflows. Evaluates new AI/ML applications and identifies systems requirements as well as data dependencies governance needs automation opportunities. Evaluates new IT developments and evolving business requirements and recommends appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems. Prepares communications and makes presentations on system enhancements and/or alternatives to AI/ML models and exploratory systems
Key Responsibilities:
Shows mastery of technical disciplines related to data science AI and ML capabilities and is recognized within the company as a senior member of a technical team.
Initiative and creativity result in high degree of innovation while showing the capacity to solve major problems of an advanced complexity within his/her area of expertise.
Key skills:
Collaborates with data engineers data scientists and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data availability and quality.
Develop and maintain data pipelines to support data ingestion transformation and storage.
Implement data governance practices to ensure data integrity security and compliance.
Provide technical support for data science platforms including troubleshooting and resolving issues.
Optimize platform performance and scalability to meet the needs of data science teams.
Assist in the deployment and management of machine learning models and algorithms.
Solves complex novel and nonrecurring problems.
Works closely with crossfunctional teams to identify and address datarelated challenges.
Provides training and support to data scientists and analysts on platform usage and best practices.
Accountability:
Works on and leads medium to large projects and assignments.
Coaches and mentors less experienced staff influences others as a technical leader.
Regularly provides specialized technical guidance to others in work area.
Participates in and/or leads crossfunctional teams across sites.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Proven experience in data engineering data enablement or data science platform support.
Strong programming skills in languages such as Python R PySpark and SQL.
Experience with data science platforms and tools (e.g. Dataiku Sagemaker Studio TensorFlow).
Knowledge of AWS cloud computing platform and services
Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Experience with machine learning model deployment and management.
Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Requires a technical (University) degree. (Exceptions approved by local HR)
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Data Science or a related field.
BS 67 years of experience or MS 56 years or PhD 34 years
