The Department of Learning and Teachings strong commitment to diversity is reflected in our fulltime faculty and the PhD and Masters program enrollment. Currently 69 of our fulltime faculty are faculty of color; 78 of students in the PhD program are students of color 69 are women and many are the first in their families to pursue higher education; and over 40 of students in the Masters program are students of color. The Department includes a fully online PhD program in Education for Social Justice both credential and masters degree programs in elementary education secondary education special education and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and a fully online Masters of education program for experienced K12 teachers. The Department of Learning and Teaching and USD have a strong commitment to diversity and to global education. Faculty candidates should be committed to working with diverse students and populations as well as an interest in fostering community engagement at the local national and global levels. The department has developed strong collaborative relationships with local schools and districts to provide an array of practicum student teaching and action research sites. In addition all graduate students are required to participate in at least one global education experience prior to graduation.

The Department of Learning and Teaching is seeking college instructors or credentialled public school personnel with a minimum of 5 years of K12 classroom experience capable of teaching Educational Research Methods.
Assignments to this course are considered lecturer and nonbenefitbased. Each course consists of 3 units of teaching credit and the maximum allowable for each nonbenefitsbased instructor is 6 units. Episodic need during Fall (Sept Dec) or Spring semesters (end Jan May).

The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience education and other factors including departmental budget.
