As we prepare to open the reimagined Newcastle Art Gallery we are seeking an experienced and enthusiasticPrograms Assistant to join our team in this newly created role working 21hours per week.
As a member of the Audience Team this position will assist in the development and delivery of highquality education and public programs that contribute to the Art Gallerys reputation as a leader in the region. The Programs Assistant will work closely with the Education Officer and Public Programs Officer to deliver and facilitate a wide range of programs across the Gallery including school holiday workshops adult masterclasses artist talks latenight programming and special oneoff programs. You will assist in the endtoend delivery of programming including concept and project development artist engagement program facilitation contribution to promotional materials and reporting.
Bringing strong presentation skills and the ability to engage a wide range of community members you will also work collaboratively with the Gallerys wider team as well as with external partners communities and audiences to codevelop promote and deliver an annual public and education program. Additionally youll have strong local networks that will contribute to the development of programming that is ambitious and engages a diverse range of presenters and audiences.
This position includes weekend and evening shifts as part of the regular schedule.
