Position Summary
Under the Coordinator of Intramural Sports and Sport Clubs the Student Assistant for Junior Govs Summer Camp helps to monitor casual care and summer camp operations and helps to facilitate casual care and summer camp activities. Availability: Up to 40 positions effective April 2018 FOAP :
Essential Functions
Availability for summer camp beginning 04/1/2018 through 08/11/2018. Ability to interact with children from ages 5 to 14. Ability to interact with children of various abilities. Ability to work with participants on artistic physical and educational activities. Ability to use sound judgment in decisionmaking and interactions with people. Ability to work independently and stay motivated and focused with program participants. Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with a diverse population the Austin Peay State University community and the public. Ability to exemplify professionalism particularly with regard to attitude punctuality appearance and personal hygiene. Ability to remain visible and approachable to participants/patrons and staffacting as a resource by providing answers to questions or assistance as needed/requested. Flexibility to manage multiple tasks effectivelyincluding changes of the daily event schedule. Ability to work all scheduled shifts as assigned by administrative staff. Participation in pool activities is essential in this position. Attendance and punctuality are essential in this position. Ability to stay on feet for several consecutive hours and perform basic physical actionsincluding the ability to run and jump as well as to lift and move at least 45 pounds. Ability to swim. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to attend weekly staff meetings outside normal program hours.
