The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Division of Facilities Services
is looking for a Maintenance Specialist Bldg/Facility/Const Journey 1 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!

What You Will Be Doing:
This position works semiindependently to construct troubleshoot repair and maintain State facilities within the guidelines of current State statutes and codes in the most efficient and economical manner possible.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:
This position is based out of an office in Tok and will perform maintenance installation and repair of facility systems and their components on facilities maintained by the Northern Region of the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF). This position requires occasional field inspections as well as shortduration travel depending on the scope of the reason for travel.

Who We Are Looking For:
The selected candidate will possess the following corecompetencies:
  • Electrical: Knowledge of electrical equipment components instruments and systems including their design installation testing uses repair or maintenance.
  • Mechanical: Knowledge of machines and tools including their designs installations uses repair and maintenance.
  • Painting: Knowledge of materials methods and appropriate tools to apply paint and other protective coating materials on drywall wood metal glass and other surfaces.
  • Plumbing and Pipefitting: knowledge of materials methods and the appropriate tools to install maintain or repair pipelines pipe systems and fixtures including water air steam gas chemicals or sewage.
  • Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgement to generate and evaluate alternatives and to make recommendations

Special Note:
This position requires a valid Alaska drivers license.
