The HR Programs and Services unit manages the universitys benefits medical leaves worklife HR compliance learning and development and recognition programs for all employees. The unit provides HR support services to the campus community through the HR Service Center and is responsible for generating and distributing HR communications to all university employees. The unit develops and maintains HR programs in collaboration with campus stakeholders to support university leadership and institutional priorities.

HR Programs & Services is a unit within Human Resources in the Finance and Administration portfolio. Finance and Administration is a vibrant and varied portfolio serving all aspects of campus life. Our employees perform a wide range of functions including offering essential financial tools and support to the universitys many departments providing key resources to employees and keeping the campus safe clean accessible and beautiful.

Position Summary

The Learning & Development Operations Specialist serves as a member of the Human Resources Learning & Development (L&D) team providing logistical management and operational coordination for L&D projects and programming and primary implementation of compliance training. This position routinely exercises appropriate discretion and initiative on timesensitive decisions projects and programs requiring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

The Learning & Development Operations Specialist reports to the Learning & Development Manager and is responsible for managing logistics for inperson and virtual training sessions across the University of Oregon. This position plays a critical role in managing L&D reporting data analysis and creating and distributing evaluative materials. As the front line for responding to L&D inquiries this position will regularly interact with internal and external partners leadership faculty and staff manage role accounts and create and maintain a customer response database. In addition the Learning & Development Operations Specialist will analyze processes provide recommendations and create standard operating procedures.

This position is responsible for the implementation and management of the Universitys policybased compliance training requirements. The Learning & Development Operations Specialist also serves as administrator for one of UOs primary learning management systems. Strong critical thinking problemsolving skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment while executing unit priorities are essential.

This position demands a firm commitment to serving the University with sensitivity and professionalism. The person in this position must support diversity and inclusion in every aspect and responsibility associated with the job. The ability to handle confidential material appropriately and maintain an institutional perspective is also critical.

This position is based in Eugene with some level of flexibility including the option to work onsite or hybrid. All adjusted work arrangements require supervisor and leadership approval.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelors degree OR an equivalent combination of skills experience education AND
One year of progressively responsible and relevant professional work experience with an emphasis on operations and logistics.

Professional Competencies

Ability to work successfully both independently with appropriate discretion and in a collaborative team environment.
Strong organization and time management skills including the ability to demonstrate initiative set priorities and achieve goals.
Capable of handling sensitive information with discretion and responsibility.
Exceptional ability to problemsolve think critically and communicate both in person and in writing.
Proficiency in Word Excel and Outlook (or similar software).
Ability to explain complex processes and procedures clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
Skilled in maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in task completion.
Knowledgeable in interpreting and adhering to processes and procedures to ensure compliance in both routine and nonroutine scenarios.
Commitment to and experience in working effectively with people from a variety of diverse backgrounds in support of a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with event coordination or complex logistics involving multiple stakeholders.
Applicable experience in creating and managing largevolume data reports.
Three years of progressively responsible and relevant professional work experience with an emphasis on operations and logistics.
Applicable experience in drafting standard operating procedures or processes.
Experience working in an institution of higher education or the public sector.
Experience with an enterprise system (e.g. PeopleSoft Epic etc. or a learning management system.
