DWR Clubhouse Director

Our Clubhouse Directors are provided with the opportunity to experience what it is like to work with youth and teens. This position will direct overall daily operations of DWR. They will oversee and provide direction for program development and delivery as well as recruit hire and manage personnel issues for all direct reports.
Our Mission: To enable all young people especially those who need us most to reach their full potential as caring productive responsible citizens.
These are some of the additional things you will do as a Clubhouse Director:
  • Develop implement and administer comprehensive programs within the 5 core areas with an emphasis and support of youth and teen development outcomes services and activities for members and visitors.
  • Provide leadership and direction to site coordinators in the management of their designated areas. Attend and participate in meetings and trainings and keep staff apprised of Club issues.
  • Develop collaborative partnerships with parents local civic groups and social agencies within the community.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly environment at all times.
  • Adhere to all sanitation and safety procedures.
  • Represent the Club by communicating the mission program objectives and scope of opportunities available for families and members.
  • Ensure administrative and operational systems are in place overseeing the maintenance and operation of the physical properties and equipment of the Club including use of facilities by outside groups.
  • Recruit select manage and provide career development opportunities for staff.
  • Provide direction to community volunteers as needed.
  • Conduct and attend regular staff meetings.
  • Required to attend and participate in regular Director Meetings.
  • Directly oversee member behavior concerns disciplinary action including suspension issues.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for parent/child issues.
  • Manage financial resources including grant reporting and the development of departmental budgets.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives in accordance with meeting and exceeding core program objectives.
  • Regularly evaluate and audit the overall quality and objectives of programs. Provide a written analysis of observations and feedback annually or as warranted.
  • Manage all staff issues and ensure that career development objectives are met and accurately reflected in performance reviews.
  • Ensure that Club procedures including but not limited to human resources and financial policies are strictly adhered to.
  • Demonstrate skills both verbal and written to communicate with a diverse population of members as well as adults.
  • Prepare activity/programming reports for management.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills able to communicate effectively with a diverse population and represent BGCTM professionally to the community.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Able to produce and provide data/reports in a timely manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Able to function well in a highpaced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university or certification in a specialty area.
  • Minimum of three years work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs to youth and teens or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Must be able to perform duties which require walking talking hearing standing sitting for long periods of time. May occasionally be required to bend kneel run and/or climb.
  • Must be able to use hands and arms to enter data into the computer use the telephone and other office equipment
  • Must be able to lift move manipulate and or hold objects up to 45 pounds. Objects that exceed the 45 pound weight limit require additional assistance when moving lifting or manipulating.
