MEDICAL SCIENCE LIAISON Rare Diseases (South)

What you will do

In this pivotal fieldbased role you will engage with healthcare professionals to educate and communicate clinical and scientific data advancing Amgens scientific platform in alignment with the companys goals and objectives.

  • Respond to unsolicited inquiries consistent with the MSL compliance standards
  • Provide and/or present field observations and insights to internal collaborators
  • Develop and implement local OL plans in line with the scientific engagement plan
  • Support speaker training as requested and ensure the speakers are updated on new data
  • Support Amgensponsored research
  • Liaise with potential investigators in nonsponsored clinical research
  • Lead and/or participate on project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics
  • Advance the MSL value proposition identify gaps achieve results and set an example for others to follow by consistently demonstrating Amgens values and leadership attributes. Demonstrate tact and integrity when communicating and interacting with others
  • Lead and support congress activities as aligned with strategy
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional colleagues you may serve as the main point of contact
  • Maintain clinical acuity and expertise and ensure timely completion of assigned training

Your field insights will contribute to strategy development and address research and unmet needs. This role demands a professional capable of optimally communicating complex scientific matters with stakeholders at all levels fostering strong relationships with the medical community and driving forward Amgens mission to improve patient health outcomes.

You will join a Medical team comprising of a Medical Manager Scientific Communications Manager Medical Science Liaisons and Crossfunctional partner teams.

What we expect of you

We are all different yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. What we seek in you as an experienced professional are these qualifications and skills:

  • Advanced degree (e.g. PharmD PhD MSc) is preferred but candidates with an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject area and proven experience will be considered
  • Previous Field based experience as MSL or KAM or Sales Rep preferably within rare disease experience
  • Knowledge and experience of the ABPI code and regulatory process and working knowledge of the NHS

LOCATION: This role will cover South of England and will require frequent travel.
