Job Summary:
This Medical Assistant position is a temporary role with the potential for permanent placement in an outpatient vascular surgery clinic. The Medical Assistant will provide clinical and administrative support to the healthcare team utilizing electronic health records (Epic). Prior healthcare experience knowledge of healthcare terminology and proficiency in Epic are required.
Location: Olympia Washington United States
Responsibilities:
- Assisting physicians and nurses with patient care.
- Obtaining patient vital signs medical history and other relevant information.
- Preparing patients for examinations and procedures.
- Administering medications as directed.
- Performing basic laboratory tests and procedures.
- Maintaining patient records and charting in Epic.
- Scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Performing other administrative tasks as needed.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) certification.
- Previous experience in healthcare.
- Knowledge of healthcare terminology.
- Proficiency in Epic electronic health record system.
- Reliable transportation.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in an outpatient clinic setting.
- Experience with vascular surgery procedures.
Special Considerations:
- Temporary position with potential for permanent placement.
- 50-mile radius for local candidates preferred.
- On-call duties are not required.
- Weekend work is not required.
- First-time Medical Assistants are accepted.
- RTO restrictions should be confirmed with the hiring manager.
Scheduling:
- Five 8-hour days per week.
