What Youll Do
- Work to ensure all steel is manufactured toCMCspecifications and safely in a timely manner
- Visually inspect furnace for problems (water leaks refractory wear etc)
- To ensure slag foaming is appropriate
- Adjust flux additions based on slag analysis to optimize slag chemistry
- Work with personnel in the operation monitoring and performance of all melt shop equipment (caster furnace cranes ladle furnace etc.
- Communicate with fellow workers and supervisors about possible production issues concerns and needs
- Trouble shoots work related problems using job knowledge experience and by communicating with others (pulpit operator process manager maintenance personnel etc)
- Responsible for controlling and replenishing the inventory of consumables needed on the operations floor
- Assist maintenance personnel when requested/needed
- Fill in or assist supervisor in the performing of duties when requested and needed
What Youll Need
- Minimum 5 years of Mill Experience
- Strong computer skills required (good knowledge of Outlook MS Word Excel and PowerPoint)
- Ability to read roll and guide drawings as necessary
- Work which may include weekends and holidays
- Data entry in SAP /QMOS
- Ability to work with a budget for lowering cost (SAP)
- Must be able to schedule work through work orders and/or delegation
- Ability to work in extreme heat
- Ability to stand for duration of shift; frequent physical activity such as walking climbing stairs or reaching to work with equipment throughout the entire shift
Your Education
- High School Diploma GED or equivalent experience is required
