The Ontario Laboratory Medicine Program (OLMP) works closely with laboratory medicine experts across over 50 established and independent hospital and community laboratories to develop and implement laboratory program initiatives across a provincially integrated laboratory network of effectively to meet provincial laboratory and testing needs.
The OLMP Strategic Planning & Program Lead Innovation will support and contribute to the development and implementation of laboratory medicine programs. As the Lead Innovation you will act as the lead support to the Manager Strategic Planning & Program Development in the development of implementation plans and deliverables related to laboratory medicine innovation. The lead has expertise and experience in facilitating stakeholder engagements scanning and assessing large bodies of evidence (including academic and grey literature) and a strong grasp of verbal/written communication to contribute to and/or synthesize findings into implementation plans and deliverables. The ideal candidate has a passion for population health and research is curious and resourceful as well as a strong team player who places high priority on collaboration.
Here is what you will be doing:
Work closely with Manager and other clinical and technical team leads to provide support on key business activities for the program.
Supports the development of longterm strategic plans and facilitates the implementation of laboratory network initiatives in alignment with the Ontario Laboratory Medicine Program strategy.
Designs and establishes mechanisms to evaluate assess and mitigate risks to laboratory medicine innovation.
Conducts project management activities develops strategic plans for operational implementations and identifies and manages risks.
Provides advisory thought leadership and expertise on program implementation.
Guides strategic planning on design configuration testing and implementation for the OLMP.
Facilitates workshops across laboratories and other key stakeholders.
Builds relationships with and establishes consensus amongst Ontario Health teams vendors and the OLMP to ensure the infrastructure is in place to support laboratory medicine initiatives.
Builds relationships with Ontario Health stakeholders to respond to OLMP related inquiries and support laboratory medicine programs.
Supports critical change by collaborating with the team to effectively socialize and shape the lab provincial laboratory medicine roadmap with senior leadership in hospitals and laboratories.
Communicates insights findings and trends to leadership and the team to ensure key stakeholders have the most accurate useful and timely information.
Collaborates with colleagues and uses best available information to make impactful decisions and successfully bring attention to and/or resolve issues.
Function as a team lead with strong leadership and mentorship abilities to develop and motivate staff.

Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience
Postsecondary degree (master degree preferred) in a related discipline (Health Science Health Administration Public Health is required
Project Management PMP) Certification is an asset
5 years of experience in managing the strategic planning development implementation of healthrelated services within the health care sector with a demonstrated track record of innovative solutions delivery within tight budgets and timelines
Strong project management experience and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities at once across various stakeholder groups
Experience in qualitative analysis literature searches policy analysis and business strategy and the ability to translate information into a summaries briefs or business cases
Experience in engaging and working directly with health system stakeholders and health service providers; engaging patients caregivers First Nations Inuit Metis urban Indigenous and special populations is an asset
Advanced Microsoft office skills (e.g. PowerPoint Excel Visio MSProject)
Knowledge and Skills
Specialized knowledge of clinical or complex systems implementations
Knowledge of health policy health research and social determinants of health and population health
Demonstrated ability to influence crossfunctional stakeholders provide guidance and technical advice to solve issues as they arise implement change and motivate team to drive strategic objectives and influence outcomes
Demonstrated consulting facilitation conflict resolution and problemsolving skills
Excellent communication and negotiations skills with a high caliber degree of judgement required to translate both complex and sensitive information
Selfdirected with enthusiasm initiative and demonstrated ability to work independently to deadlines
