Job Description

Job Title: Mechanical Technologist/Technician

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Technologist/Technician to join our clients team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and has verifiable design and construction experience as well as ensuring the proper installation maintenance and repair of HVAC fire and wet services systems. This role requires strong technical knowledge attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a larger team.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed planning design and analysis of HVAC systems fire and wet services systems.
  • Prepare accurate technical specifications cost estimates and project schedules for HVAC engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with architects engineers and project managers to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of HVAC systems and fire/wet services installations.
  • Install maintain and repair HVAC systems such as air conditioning units furnaces boilers and ventilation systems.
  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of fire suppression systems including sprinklers fire alarms and extinguishers.
  • Conduct regular inspections and tests on HVAC and fire/wet services systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime and disruption.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance repairs and inspections performed on HVAC and fire/wet services systems.
  • Stay current with industry developments trends and best practices related to HVAC engineering fire and wet services.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior technicians and technologists.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree with 5 years of experience or a diploma with 5 years of experience.
  • Proven experience working as a mechanical technologist/technician in HVAC engineering fire and wet services.
  • Proficient in using design software like Carrier HAP AutoCAD Revit MEP.
  • Excellent problemsolving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with team members clients and contractors.
  • Valid drivers license and own transport
  • Registration with the ECSA will be advantageous
  • Speaks 2 of the 3 languages of the Western Cape: Afrikaans English Xhosa
