About the Role
We are seeking a full time 1.0 FTE) ongoing Individual Needs Teacher to join our Plenty Campus community in Term 2 2025 (start date flexible).This ongoing role is uniquely structured as a combination of two 0.5 FTE responsibilities:

  • 0.5 FTE Individual Needs Teacher
    In this capacity you will support students with diverse learning needs by adapting teaching approaches to their individual strengths and challenges. Working closely with classroom teachers families and support staff you will help foster student confidence engagement and a positive learning experience.
  • 0.5 FTE Academic Intervention Specialist
    This newly established part of the role focuses on delivering targeted shortterm literacy and numeracy support to students who require additional assistance but do not meet the criteria forNCCD funding. Your work will complement classroom teaching and enhance learning outcomes for a broader group of students.

Both aspects of this role sit within the Individual Needs team and contribute to our commitment to inclusive and equitable education for all students.

Your Everyday
Working closely with the Individual Needs Coordinator and Classroom Teachers the successful candidate will:

  • Provide literacy and numeracy support across our Foundation to Year 8 for our Plenty Primary and Middle Years cohort
  • Work collaboratively with all staff within the learning support team
  • Liaise with classroom teachers regarding curriculum differentiation and strategies to assist special needs students
  • Provide a resource for classroom teachers regarding suitable strategies and materials to support individual students
  • Assist in the identification development and facilitation of all support programs to meet the learning needs of students as required
  • Work in conjunction with our School Psychologists interpret diagnostic testing and disseminate appropriate strategies to teaching staff.

About You

  • Suitably qualified and experienced in teaching Individual needs would be advantages
  • Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students and colleagues
  • Passionate about student learning and professional growth
  • Up to date knowledge of contemporary teaching application and theory
  • Personal resilience in managing multiple demands and timelines.
