Job Description
Chubb is seeking a skilled Reinsurance Litigation Counsel to join our dynamic team in the Philadelphia PA office!
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage reinsurance arbitrations mediations and litigation (at the trial and appellate court levels). This includes: predispute counseling; selection and supervision of outside counsel; review and edit of briefs and other written submissions; coordination of written discovery; preparation of company witnesses for deposition and trial testimony; and active oversight of and participation in hearings trials mediations and moot court sessions.
- Coordinate dispute and litigation management with internal business partners to ensure consistency with business strategies.
- Communicate with senior management team on matters of significance.
- Identify litigation trends and counsel business clients and other legal staff regarding opportunities to address those trends.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years litigation experience with law firm and/or insurance company.
- Substantial experience drafting and editing briefs and memoranda.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Insurance/reinsurance knowledge and arbitration experience are a plus.
EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
- Licensed to practice law in the U.S.
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited U.S. or foreign university or college.
