Job Description

Overview

The Legal Cashier will work as a part of client account cashiering team undertaking various cashiering tasks predominantly on the client account.

Responsibilities

  • Processing a high volume of Client account payments and receipts
  • Posting Client to Office Transfers i.e taking our costs
  • Running of interest calculations on request by the fee earning teams
  • Processing of any manual cheque requests and seeking signatures for these
  • Processing of daily cheque banking
  • Adhoc tasks as needed
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards
  • Recording and remedying of breaches which have been discovered
  • Utilising previous skills and knowledge to look at ways to streamline processes
  • Attending Team and Department meetings and making recommendations
  • Undertake any specific training when required

Essential & Desirable Criteria

  • IT Literate
  • Aderant Expert experience if possible
  • Knowledge of Excel Outlook and MS Office
  • Cashiering background (experience in a busy law firm)
  • Knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules
  • Selfmotivated and able to organise their own workload
  • Works well under pressure
  • High level of detail and accuracy
  • Good communication skills
  • Confident in dealing with all levels of internal and external stakeholders
