The role is part of the InSpace Systems business unit which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility onorbit.

As part of a small team you will participate in the development and verification of space flight components on Blue Origin space craft. You will share in the teams impact on all aspects of reusable safetycritical component development and delivery. This handson position requires experience in assembling and fabricating a safety critical space ship. Together our teams deliver the structures carrying critical components in space.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
As a Spacecraft Technician you will have hands on responsibility to build complex structural components typically using large jigs and tooling to conform to final assembly level requirements using hand tools aerospace fasteners power tools and fixtures. In this role you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate deeply in all aspects of first mockup to first production. This will include developing verifiable requirements reading/documenting/implementing processes and influencing final designs.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
35 years experience (or equivalent) in aerospace spacecrafts R&D or related industrial or defense fields.
Must be willing to travel (approximately 15 to other launch sites or customer facilities as necessary
Strong attention to detail desire to solve problems and drive to resolve technical issues.
Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills fields and backgrounds
Ability to lift items up to 40 lbs. and use lifting equipment and machinery for heavier hardware.
Must possess a strong work ethic prove ability to follow direction and meet expectations.
Excellent shop mathematics precision measuring skills and test instruments to complete work assignments including functional test assemblies
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings documents process specifications quality control requirements and established processes and procedures.
Must be comfortable working on ladders scissor lifts booms and or elevated workstations or in spaces of 10 feet or less such as under instrument panels and inside structures.
Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to interface with software systems databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to earn trust maintain positive and professional relationships and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Prior experience fabricating maintaining testing operating or inspecting aerospace mechanical components or fluids systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
10 years of applicable industry experience (launch vehicles satellites aircraft motorsports oil & gas).
Top Secret Clearance
A&P license or equivalent experience in launch vehicle or propulsion system assembly and integration
Experience installing strain gages with a variety of adhesive types Aerospace fasteners rivet guns torque wrench ducts wire harnesses insulation and tubing.
Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware
Experience in assembling large tighttolerance structures
Experience installing Space Craft hardware
Work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fastpaced dynamic team environment with constantly evolving roles and responsibilities
