Job Description

ROLE: Activity Leader

PROGRAM: ILSC Toronto Junior Camp

REPORTS TO: Activity Coordinator and Program Manager ILSC Toronto Junior Camp

DURATION OF JUNIOR CAMP PROGRAM: 46 weeks from June 29 2025 until August 10 2025.

Activity leaders inject life into the activities program of an ILSC Junior Camp. They provide an experience which is fun engaging and culturally enriching for students. They supervise the students outside the classroom overseeing their welfare safety and discipline always.

Activity Leaders work on a fulltime basis 37.5 hours per week. Activity Leaders must commute to and from the program location and are paid an hourly rate.

Work Schedule and Timeline

The Activity Leader role is a fulltime fixedterm position. Due to the nature of the work your hours may vary and may be irregular.

The schedule timeline and hourly requirements are as follows:

  • Full time hours onsite at ILSC Toronto will begin on June 29 2025 until August 10 2025
  • Preprogram staff training will take place fromJune 23 2025 to June 27 2025at the ILSC Toronto campus
  • Your weekly work schedule will consist of greeting students upon their arrival at the airport and connect them with the driver assigned to bring them to their homestay (typically on Sundays and scheduled by the Program Manager and/or Activity Coordinator with the team on a rotational basis)
  • Supervising students on their weekday offsite morning activities onMondayFriday from 8:30 AM3:00 PM
  • Supervising students on their fullday weekend activity onSaturdays from 9:00 AM6:00 PM (may vary depending on activity)
  • Remuneration is $19.00/hour

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The job duties of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Greet students at airport upon their arrival and connect them with the driver assigned to bring them to their homestay
  • Assist the Junior Program Manager and Activity Coordinator with the Student Orientation on the morning of the first day of the program each week (typically Mondays) at the ILSC Toronto campus by leading initial getting to know you activities as well as assisting students with public transit cards and SIM cards and any other orientation tasks as directed by the Program Manager and Activity Coordinator
  • Attend daily staff meetings to review the days activities and to plan for the following day
  • Supervise students during assigned activities and groups during excursions
  • Ensure the health and safety welfare and discipline of students by being attentive to incidents of discrimination bullying or conflict between students and alerting the Junior Camp management staffthe Program Manager and/or Activity Coordinator of any issues
  • Complete student attendance reports as required and advise the Junior Camp management team of any absences lateness or behavioral issues
  • Assist the Activity Coordinator and on occasion agents and accreditation inspectors in the observation and evaluation of activities
  • Responsible for tracking and maintaining receipts.
  • All other reasonable requests

Skills and Attributes

Essential

Experience working with teenagers in a camp or extracurricular activity environment

Background in sports art drama or dance or social media

Desirable

CPR / First Aid / Lifeguard certification

Bilingualism: English and another language an asset.

Additional Requirements of the Job:

Criminal Record Police Check

Medical records and immunization reports may be required
