Certerra/WTis a consulting firm with over 65years of quality service that offers professional services in the southwestern United States in the fields of geotechnical engineering environmental engineering construction materials engineering and testing nondestructive testing and welding inspection.We have a fulltime opportunity for an experienced Construction Materials Special Inspector / Department Manager in our Salt Lake City UT office established in the area over 45 years ago. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented professional to help lead staff and the company to grow.
Responsibilities
- Work with project designers and clients to ensure that client specifications are followed
- Perform routine to complex inspections and testing of construction materials in the field
- Prepare daily reports on observation activities
- Review observation and test data for accuracy and completeness
- Assist with proposal scoping and preparation
- Track project budgets and prepare invoices
- Assist with training supervision and mentoring of staff as needed
Education Experience and Skills
- 4 years of construction materials testing and observation experiencerequired
- Ability to read and comprehend plans and specificationsrequired
- Experience ranging from small to large complex construction and/or heavy highway projectspreferred
- Experience in managing staff required
- High school diploma or equivalentrequired
- 4year Civil Engineering degreepreferred
- A valid drivers license and a clean driving historyrequired
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detailrequired
- Strong organization and planning skillsrequired
- Comfortable with MS Office including Word Excel Outlook and OneDriverequired
Minimum Certifications
- ACI Concrete FieldTesting Technician
- One ICC Certification
- One ATTI Certification
Preferred Certifications
- ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector
- ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector
- ICC Prestressed Concrete Special Inspector
- ATTI Field Technician or equivalent
- Nuclear Gauge / Radiation Safety
