Position Summary
Govs R.O.W. (Registration Orientation Welcome) Leaders work with University staff and faculty to assist new students participating in Winter and Summer Govs R.O.W. events and APEX APSU Experience) Weekend activities. R.O.W. Leaders guide new students and serve as a resource for freshmen and transfer students who are learning what the campus has to offer themboth personally and academically. As a role model the R.O.W. Leader is committed to student success and promoting positive experiences for new students. R.O.W. Leaders report to the Coordinator of New Student Orientation. FOAP :
Essential Functions
Availability to work both Winter and Summer Govs R.O.W. eventsincluding events that take place while classes are not in session. Ability to follow directions. Ability to exercise followthrough skills by completing assigned tasks. Ability to exercise creativity and resourcefulness. Dependability is essential to this position. Attendance and punctuality are essential to this position. Ability to accept responsibility for decisions and personal actions. Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate/professional manner with diverse populations including incoming students and their families the University community and the general public. Ability to work some evening and weekend hours. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to display a positive and professional attitude regarding APSU personnel and programs offered. Ability to demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to solve problems without conveying frustration. Ability to arrive on timethat is to be in place prior to the start of all assigned activities.
