Job Description

Position: Deputy Director of Clinical Services

Program: Permanent Housing Advanced Clinical Services (PHACS)

Location: 205 Mission St. San Francisco CA 94013

Reports to: Director of Clinical Services

Salary: $110000/year

Status: Exempt Nonunion

We focus on the hardesttoreach most vulnerable people: Women Medical Crisis Substance Use Disorder and Older Adults. Our programs meet the needs of people rather than demanding that people meet the needs of our programs.

JOB SUMMARY:

Community Forward SF is hiring a Deputy Director of Clinical Services (DDCS) for our new Permanent Housing Advanced Clinical Services (PHACS) program. The program provides mental and behavioral health services for residents in San Francisco permanent supportive housing sites.

The Deputy Director of Clinical Services will oversee the daily operations of PHACS clinical staff complete monthly reports facilitate group and individual counseling sessions provide educational services maintain client records ensure compliance and quality improvement of charts and facilitate individual and group clinical supervision sessions.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee daily operations of clinical services in the PHACS program.
  • Complete monthly PHACS reports.
  • Provide individual clinical supervision for PHACS staff on a weekly basis.
  • Provide clinical group supervision for PHACS Mental Health Clinicians on a weekly basis.
  • Assess diagnose and treat clients while also maintaining a small client caseload.
  • Lead new Mental Health Clinician Case Manager and Harm Reduction Specialist orientation.
  • Lead PHACS caseload assignment and management.
  • Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely client charts.
  • Review progress notes assessments and treatment plans of care to ensure compliance and quality assurance of documentation
  • Assist in monthly chart review & PURQC Committee processes
  • Assist in maintaining all program policies procedures and goals regarding Units of Service Performance Objectives and Staff Activity
  • Interact effectively with the larger PHACS team at the SF Department of Public Health.
  • Assist with staff training evaluation and continuing education
  • Respond effectively to grievances and client concerns
  • Assist in CQI of the existing program and development of new programs
  • Assist in maintaining all program policies procedures and objectives
  • Interact effectively with city departments provider partners funders volunteers and potential donors.
  • Serve as oncall backup for staff outages.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures.
  • Training and meeting attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE:

  • Masters degree or higher in therapy social work psychology or related human services field or equivalent in education and work experience.
  • Registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences or Board of Psychology as an LCSW LMFT LPCC or Licensed Psychologist.
  • Licensed for two years & able to provide Supervised Professional Experience (SPE) to clinicians and interns.
  • License in good standing with the appropriate board of regulation.
  • Must meet MediCal Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA).
  • Have full billing privileges with MediCal and the SF Department of Public Health
  • Two years minimum experience in individual and group counseling and client caseload management.
  • Experience providing managerial oversight and individual supervision
  • Extensive understanding of homelessness trauma DV/IPV HIV/AIDS mental health disorders neurodiversity and systems of oppression.
  • Thorough understanding of harm reduction substance use disorder and recovery.
  • Ability to educate teach train and evaluate clinical staff
  • Ability to engage with others in a positive energetic helpful and traumainformed manner.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Experience working with people from various cultures and backgrounds.
  • Strong selfawareness cultural humility and commitment to personal praxis
  • Proficiency with Office and GSuite. Ability to work in a networked computer environment.
  • CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire.
  • TB clearance and proof of COVID19 vaccination within 7 days of hire.

  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of San Francisco community resources and neighborhoods
  • Knowledge and familiarity with San Francisco billing databases (i.e.EPIC)
