General Purpose of Job:
The Admissions Operations Specialist plays a vital role in supporting prospective students through the application and admissions process. By ensuring data integrity accuracy and collaboration with admission counselors to ensure a seamless experience for prospective students.
Essential Functions of Job:
1. Review applications to ensure accurate and efficient processing.
2. Manage the intake of applicationrelated documents across multiple platforms (e.g. in person mail email upload). These items include transcripts test scores and additional supplemental items to complete the application process.
3. Process completed files for acceptance or denial including undergraduate graduate readmits and transfers.
4. Process prospects requesting to defer their start term or withdrawn application.
5. Order and maintain inventory of print pieces for communication plans and prospect correspondence.
6. Prioritize daily tasks including data entry of inquiries into Slate.
7. Maintain high standards of data integrity.
8. Ensure coordinated and effective operations through exchange of information and feedback across internal departments.
9. Process correspondence daily by mail merge printing letters and envelopes and work with Campus Services or outside vendors to submit files for printing and mailing.
10. Process event RSVPs and participants.
11. Serve as back up to the main Admissions phone line.
Qualifications and Requirements:
1. The position is inoffice based in Des Moines Iowa
2. Utilize various systems and technologies Excel database and customer relationship management experience helpful
3. Selfstarter highly motivated and able to prioritize daily tasks
4. High level of accuracy quality and speed is required
5. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills to a wide range of users including colleagues vendors and workstudy students
6. Ability to work as a team as well as autonomously
7. High School diploma or equivalent required
Working Conditions:
1. Ability to lift 25 pounds (inventory/storeroom control)
