The University of Dayton a toptier Catholic research university seeks a talented and driven Systems/MBSE Engineer to join our esteemed UDRI Power & Energy division. We are seeking a systems engineer to support multiple programs involving systems engineering (SE) and digital engineering (DE) initiatives. The successful candidate will be selfdriven an excellent communicator have a strong background in digital and modelbased engineering in defense or commercial applications. The position will support multiple clients primarily government.
Job Duties:
Support clients in helping them understand Air Force DE requirements and guidance by applying advanced technical concepts to solve complex problems
Translate client guidance into actionable plans
Guide and support clients through plan implementation
Provide technical direction for junior engineers project managers and technicians as a subject matter expert supporting DE efforts as needed
Participate in and contribute to a team environment by working with all levels of employees
Serve as an advocate for DE within and outside of UDRI developing a reputation in the broader technical community as an expert
R1:
Bachelors of Science in an engineering field
1 year experience working in systems engineering
Experience providing technical expertise for multifunctional teams and/or integrated process teams
Successful experience in any or all of the following:
o Model based system engineering (MBSE) SysML
o Applying Cameo or similar MBSEenabling toolset
o Requirements derivation flow down & management
o New process development and introduction
Experience in aspects of digital engineering relevant to USAF acquisition/sustainment
Strong written communication skills
Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen
Must be able to obtain security clearance
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
An R2 must meet all R1 minimum qualifications in addition to the qualifications listed below.
5 years experience working in systems engineering
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
MS in engineering field or an MBA
Systems engineering degree or certification
10 years experience in systems engineering
Direct experience with USAF Flightline maintenance processes systems and/or data
Demonstrated successful experience in any of the following:
o Developing solutions architectures
o Supporting an AFMC program office in engineering role
o Operating in Teamcenter or similar product lifecycle management (PLM) system
o Working as systems engineer with project leadership responsibility
o With digital thread/digital twin application or implementation
o As systems engineer in DoD NASA aerospace or automotive industries
Demonstrated strong verbal communicator
Experience with formulating/authoring Government contracts and completing technical evaluations
