We are looking to incorporate an Expert Engineer in Carbon Capture to join a newly established division New Track and Services committed to a low-carbon economy. The selected professional will play a key role in the development and implementation of advanced technologies for capturing and storing carbon dioxide emissions from industrial processes and energy production. The position is focused on providing technical support and engineering services for the steel sector.

Location:

Madrid Spain

Work Modality:

Hybrid work model: two days of remote work per week. Flexible working hours and intensive workday schedule during the summer months.

Responsibilities:

Develop and optimize carbon capture systems to improve their efficiency and performance.

Lead multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project execution and integration of carbon management strategies.

Provide expert knowledge on carbon capture technologies including chemical absorption and physical separation processes.

Conduct assessments of existing systems through site visits and simulations identifying areas for improvement.

Collaborate closely with other technical professionals: mechanical engineers environmental specialists project managers among others.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to carbon capture technologies.

Serve as a technical reference providing operational support and delivering internal training to junior engineers.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Chemical Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering. Postgraduate studies will be valued.

Minimum of 10 years experience in project development within the Carbon Capture (CC) value chain.

Proven experience in leading conceptual studies basic engineering or FEED for CO capture technologies including:

  • Carbon capture in power generation plants.
  • Aqueous amine-based CO capture.
  • Membrane gas separation.
  • Cryogenic carbon capture.
  • CO liquefaction.

Strong knowledge of key considerations in carbon capture and CO transport mechanisms.

Technical proficiency in process simulation (Hysys Aspen Unisim) hydraulic calculations equipment design instrumentation and valve specification and client comment management.

Desirable skills:

Innovative thinking and orientation toward continuous technological improvement.

Leadership skills and experience managing complex projects.

Strong communication skills to effectively interact with internal teams clients and international stakeholders.
