WORK SCHEDULE

Flexible based on teaching clinical and research schedules

JOB SUMMARY

The primary focus of this position is the leadership of the clinical training aspect of the Graduate Programs in Counseling Psychology particularly the practicum/internship experiences for students. The successful candidate would carry a teaching load conduct research and provide leadership and direction of the training element of the program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions:

  • Teach an annual course load of 16 hours.
  • 16 hours of load assigned for group supervision of masters level interns clinical load and research.
  • Provide weekly group supervision for masters level interns.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings.
  • Provide mentorship for students working on clinical competency projects.
  • Attend and actively participate in staff functions (e.g. admissions meetings clinical competency evaluations annual reviews).
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Southern Nazarene University is an expression of the Church of the Nazarene.   • An understanding of the importance for diversity inclusion and equity.
  • Conferred doctoral degree in counseling or clinical psychology.
  • Licensed or license eligible to practice in the state of Oklahoma at either the
  • doctorate or masters level (postdoctoral candidates will be considered and can be provided clinical and supervision opportunities to aid in licensure).
  • Demonstrable success teaching in higher education.
  • Demonstrable success in the practice of clinical or counseling psychology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in counseling/clinical administration

Supervision Received:

Receives supervision and work assignments from the Director of the Graduate Programs in Counseling Psychology.
